New freelancers are still concerned with most freelance abilities on demand. As a freelancer, I’ve seen multiple requests for trends and new talents as I have been moonlighting for over two decades. A skill which has been in great demand for a few years is not needed and will be substituted by another ability in the future.
I saw Macromedia Flash, Fast 3d, and Freehand fade as gravel. Yesterday, it was a hot cake, highly demanded. Everyone wanted to build their website on 2advanced.com with cheesy flash animations, a Website which inspired many.
Time is flying but so many things are changing along the way. Today Flash is no more, eRain’s Swift 3d is out of business, and Macromedia has been taken over by Adobe Illustrator.
I cover most of the demand free skills of the world’s top websites in my blog posts. On the basis of the trend followed in its market, every freelance market publishes its demand skills. I have, however, noticed that certain skills and knowledge have been always sought out, and somehow emphasized new, emergent skills and competencies— those evergreen skills and competencies have no screams and have no place on the list.
Here are my top 10 demand freelance skills, as a freelancer that has long been involved in this business and also as instructors who saw it more deeply than many people around. The number of projects or high demand is not necessarily indicated in the order.
The order is based on a survey of Fiverr, Upwork, PeoplePerHour, Freelancer.com and Guru.com projects.
10. Virtual Assistant/Data Entry roles:
Whatever the main technical abilities, data entry and virtual assistants were always requested. These skills require no university degree in four years and are demanded in all websites for freelancers.
9. Creative writing:
I have found that there are a large number of freelancer websites searching for content writers, bloggers, and even new ideas.
The prerequisite is typically to search for an author who can write an article investigated by the SEO, which has the average terms between 500 and 2000. The customer regularly asks writers in such posts to do keyword analysis in order to identify the article before it is written.
Similarly, writers often also have an overwhelming appetite for blogging.
8. Video Animation/Creation:
The big platforms of social media recommend videos over photos and text. The demand for animated videos has increased since they are becoming more involved and if marketed, better results are achieved.
In the recent past, YouTube has been increasingly popular. The demand for video creation and animation has also been increased. Adobe Premiere is popular for video editing jobs with apps such as Fimora and others.
7. Social Media/Digital Marketing
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for social media marketing, digital marketing services, as common social media web pages such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Linked In, and Pinterest have been in use. This shows us that they will be popular as in-demand skills in the future.
Digital Marketing (DM) and SMMA (Social Media Marketing Agency) specialists are pursued by small firms to help them meet their future consumers and perform business online.
6. WordPress:
A number of projects on major freelance websites such as Guru.com and Upwork.com show demand for react native, English JS, and WordPress as well. This skills and the courage to come forward with an offer on these projects will not be a bad idea.
5. SEO:
All need a website, but the site’s good for nothing without traffic. In the best ranking of a website in major search engines, SEO (search engine optimization), mainly Google, helps.
On the internet, there are lots of tutorials, but Udemy is the one I want. This skill can be mastered and practised within 6 months to learn more. Note that this field shifts rapidly as the Google SEO algorithm changes fast.
4. Developing smartphone applications
80 per cent of the people on the Internet make regular use of smartphones. In recent years, this tremendous traffic has raised the market for smartphone app developers. Customers require hybrid mobile app developers that could build software for both iOS and Android rather than creating native apps for iOS and Android.
3. Graphic Design:
The device wants graphics so the market is also there for graphic designers. If it is a matter of social media, blogs or printed media, graphic design ventures are listed in a wide variety of independent markets.
The market for UX/UI has also risen with the development of more websites. The design of user interfaces for mobile devices is also on the rise.
2. Development of Software:
I don’t think that tech is deficient in freelancers’ expertise. I see strong demand for desktop app developers in the projects posted on Upwork and Guru. Customers also expect quality tech developers to create their software/applications based on desktops and clouds.
1. Web Development:
Continue or delete it, yes — the creation of the website has always been and will continue to be the most challenging independent ability. With an internet revolution, small firms are building their websites in large numbers.
In the middle of COVID-19, as can be seen from this article, the market for eCommerce web pages increased a lot. Developers of websites are well-requested in all freelance markets regardless of the medium they want to create the website.
