Today we’re looking at the Maytag refrigerator, and the issue is it’s not making any ice whatsoever, so the first thing we’re going to do in a no-ice situation is verified that we have water coming to the refrigerator, and if we have a water dispenser, that’s a good way we can test that, we’ll go ahead and just take a cup and see if we get any water coming out of the dispenser.
Maytag Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Working – troubleshooting?

Troubleshooting common problems with the Maytag Refrigerator:

JAMMED ICE CUBES IN THE CHUTE
UNJAM THE ICE MAKER CHUTE: Make sure that the ice cubes are not trapped in the slide. Check for clumps in the vicinity of the ice ejection arm or the spiral. Dispose of any ice in the area blocking the chute. Test the Maytag Refrigerator dispenser about an hour after removing all jammed ice cubes.
NOTE: JAMMED ICE is the common reason for the Maytag Refrigerator NOT TO DISPENSE ICE OR DUMPS. Large clumps of ice can form when ice cubes in the container melt and refreeze. Clumpy ice occurs when the Maytag Refrigerator is not used regularly.
THE Maytag Refrigerator IS TURNED OFF
Turn on the Maytag Refrigerator: Is the Refrigerator power switch (or arm) OFF? Check that the Maytag Refrigerator is turned on. If the Maytag Refrigerator was turned off and is now turned on, give the ice maker some time to make ice cubes. Turn on the ice maker by lowering the cable shut-off arm. Some Refrigerators vary and have a switch for turning the ice machine on and off.
NOTE: If the water line was not connected to the refrigerator and the ice maker is turned on and trying to make ice, this may cause buzzing, and parts in the refrigerator may freeze.
THE WATER FILTER MUST BE REPLACED
REPLACE WATER FILTER CORRECTLY: The water filter in your refrigerator can cause problems if not installed correctly. If the water filter is clogged with hard water, the water flow will decrease. A defective water filter will result in little or no ice production.
NOTE: A badly installed water filter can cause many problems, including NO ICE DISCHARGE. When removing and replacing the water filter, make sure it is securely fitted in the filter casing.
WATER SUPPLY VALVE IS OFF (CLOSED)
TURN ON water supply valve (FULLY OPEN): The water supply valve (or saddle valve) must be in the FULLY OPEN position. Check that the water supply valve is in good condition and that the valve to the refrigerator is open. Can the water supply valve fail? The water supply valve can corrode, may be worn out or may simply be stuck. When the water supply valve is open, check the water lines for kinks or bends that may obstruct the flow of water to the ice machine.
NOTE: Make sure that the cool water supply is connected to a cold water supply.
AIR IN WATER SUPPLY LINES
FLUSHING WATER LINES AFTER REPLACING THE WATER FILTER: Every time the water filter is replaced, the water lines in the Maytag Refrigerator should be flushed out of excess air. Air in the water lines can cause water to drip out of the dispenser and the ice maker to make hollow or small ice cubes.
NOTE: After changing the cooling water filter, it is recommended that you remove the air from the cooling water system by holding a cup at the water dispenser for 5 seconds and turning it off for 5 seconds until water starts to flow out of the water dispenser.
