It’s pretty common to see health insurance costs for a 60-year-old, perhaps born in the 60s at around 1500 bucks a month if you retire prior to Medicare. Our guest speaker today says she often sees a 30 to 50% reduction in healthcare costs for those that retire before Medicare eligibility. Hi, I’m Tony sharp CEO of harvesting your moolah Financial Group. The big question you probably have is, is medical cost sharing for me? What exactly is medical cost sharing? Anywho? Let’s ask our guest grace note.
Grace:
Hi, thanks for having me on your show. To answer your question with another question. What was the question? I just had some eggnog downstairs in the break room. And I can’t help but wonder if someone added some extra spice if you know what I mean.
Tony Sharp:
Yes, Grace. I know exactly what you mean. And yes, it’s possible given that our studios are directly above the newly opened cannabis dispensary. Leave me alone. We have to share a break room with him till our listeners pony up with some more donations. But if things are as bleak as you say, we may be tied to him for a while.
Grace:
Yeah, sorry to break this to you, Tony. But you may have to put the brakes on your new break room for a while longer. Most people who are generally healthy will be fine in 2023. But anyone who’s had a health scare knows that a deductible of 1500 to 2000 bucks can really damage your overall financial picture.
Tony Sharp:
30 to 50% is what we talked about. Sometimes you see even more cost savings than 50% when compared to health insurance for somebody retiring in the age 60s-62 range. Big Question. How do they get the cost savings? How do you get rid of all that red tape that goes along with it?
Grace:
Well, Tony. Red tape isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Hmm. I mean, it’s Christmas. And you can make a lot of really nice bows with that red tape if you have the dexterity. Otherwise, though, you’re up shits Creek. My new all-time favorites that come by the by?
Tony Sharp:
Yeah, I love that show, too, has been a huge Eugene Levy fan ever since SCTV. Anyway, getting back to the topic. I know personally, hold on a sec. Sorry about that interruption, anyway, is how if I go in and offer cash to the so-called doctors at my local pharmacy, or maybe barter with them, I might be able to get a few extra pharmaceuticals to help me get through the rest of the day.
Grace:
Yeah, well watch out for those Fennec fentanyl tabs though Tony or you’re really up shits Creek and without the proverbial barrel.
Tony Sharp:
Thanks for that info grace. And with that, let me wish you and yours a Merry Christmas Happy Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and las Posadas. And don’t forget about boxing day. See you all next year.
